Two decades ago, an insurance agency was formed with a mission to make an environmental and social impact. Years later, Daniel Costello and Peter Schmale have shown that dreams do come true. Together they have taken a life long devotion to outdoor sports, environmental activism, and nonprofit philanthropy and turned it into the first "Green" certified insurance agency in the North Bay.

Farallone Pacific Insurance Services got its unusual name not from the outer islands that Peter Schmale frequently scans while sailing upon the Bay, but from Peter's 65-year-old wooden Farallone Clipper, the Patita. The tropical colors framing the islands in their logo gives a hint to their corporate culture-employee friendly with a sincere interest in contributing to the Bay Area community at large. Many employees telecommute at least 3 days weekly, so waste of water, energy, gas and disposable goods are kept to a minimum.

The Agency's clients include hundreds of nonprofit organizations, many green companies, and businesses entities on and off "Main Street". Over 4,000 individuals and families count on Farallone Pacific to protect their homes, autos, families, and life styles.
