After 22 years in consumer electronics and Silicon Valley high-tech industries, I opted to take a new career path with group insurance benefits. As a single father, the new career allowed me to spend more time with my young sons. The transition was not overly difficult, but I did learn one, ongoing and nagging difference between the high tech and medical insurance worlds. In high-tech, we worked very hard to make complicated products, easy to understand. It seems in the world of medical benefits, the opposite is true. Healthcare takes what should be easy, simple solutions and makes them very hard to understand. I approach this challenge with the same passion as always, trying to make our industry in general and medical insurance specifically, far easier to understand. It is not "Rocket Science" and it should not feel that way to employers or employees.

I trumpet the fact that I am not a lifelong insurance person. My early career put me in perfect position to understand the challenges client's face from their point of view. I sat in the same position, wrestling with employee benefits as a General Manager for several companies. I learned first-hand the difference between an insurance salesman and a broker partner that had my best interests in mind. Finding the right broker always delivered a better experience for our employees and better bottom line results for me as the employer. Products and carriers change, but my most trusted broker resource was a constant. This is the model that I chose to emulate when I opted to become a broker myself.

I have spent enough time at different levels of the broker world, from regional to national to sole proprietor to know what is best for my clients and me. The right niche based regional broker provides a level of service, support and focus on the customer's needs that is simply not there with larger brokers or what I could provide on my own. Farallone Pacific was a perfect fit for me and my client partners. We are different and I hope to show you how we make our client's lives easier!
